About

From start-up to planning to succession

A practical approach

Meet Michael A. Blanchard, Partner, CPA who brings more than 25 years of tax, accounting, and business consultation experience to his clients. Though he helps clients in a range of tax and accounting areas, Michael specializes in guiding businesses through all financial phases—from start-up to planning for sale or succession.

Mike’s accounting career began when he volunteered to prepare taxes while on active duty in the US Navy. After acquiring an Associate’s degree in Management from Olympic College, Michael went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Linfield College. He later earned his Certified Public Accountant credentials and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. After seven years at Johnson, Glaze & Co. he became a principal in 2007 and joined our wealth management group in 2008. Today, Mike is a JGC Wealth Management advisor and the Chief Compliance Officer.

Born and raised on a farm in Dallas, Oregon, Mike is an eight-year Navy veteran. To this day he lives on the family farm with his wife, Kristine, and their three children—Maddie, Bella, and Gavin. Though life on the family farm keeps him plenty busy—planting trees, chasing chickens, and maintaining crops—he still finds time to coach youth soccer. Michael also gives back to his community by serving on his local school board and volunteering with several other nonprofits.

Mike’s outgoing personality—always ready with a joke—and his business and financial acumen put his clients at ease. He can talk taxes or retirement or discuss business valuations, exit planning and succession with clients who are trying to sort through their options. He’ll help business owners choose the right retirement program for their company and their own future. Or work with farm and ranch owners to help them plan for the next generation.
